Testimonials
Dr Al Meggs devised an innovative autoethnographic approach for his thesis, creating an autoethnocabaret that evolves and expands conventional academic writing, drawing on the personal, the researched and the imaginary to inform a wholly original method of writing critical work. He has been able to develop academic writing as an art form which will undoubtedly inspire future work. Al’s research challenges conventional academic writing and is utterly absorbing, vivid and moving. He has been able to capture a moment in history and a style of dance that would otherwise have been lost and this is a significant contribution to academia and the creative arts. Al is incredibly motivated and hard-working, watching his incredible success with his doctoral work has been nothing short of momentous. He is a terrific writer, a skilled researcher and communicates complex ideas effectively to make them accessible to a variety of audiences. His thesis is a joy to read and it is my sincerest hope that it gets out into the world – it is brilliant!

Over time I have engaged Al’s services on several major projects as a stage manager and or costume supervisor. He has worked with me on events for Philips, the FSA, Barclays and Samsung. In fact, whenever I am planning such an event Al is the first person I think of when preparing the project. He is now an indispensable member of my team and would not only recommend him to other producers I would say your project will be graced by his presence.
- Steve Devereaux
Producer
We were blessed to have Al Meggs work as Director's Assistant for the musical, "The Betrayal of Nora Blake". His contribution was essential to the smoothness of the production and I am forever grateful for the task he took on and fulfilled so adeptly and graciously. The whole cast and crew were thankful for his presence.
- Bobbie Horowitz
Producer
Having employed Al as Production Manager on several projects for Kent County Council, including Kent's Sporting Legends and the Kent School Games Cultural Celebration, he proved to be a highly organised, no nonsense man who was able to keep his sense of humour even in the midst of chaos. Al is committed and will get the job done.

I was first introduced to Al Meggs whilst scouting for dancers as the artistic director and choreographer of the dance company Beauxartz. His peers recommended Al to me and he fast became a fantastic company member and an integral contribution to the success of the company. Not only was his dance technique admirable but also he was always disciplined and good humoured. I had the pleasure of working with Al for many years – first as a company member of Beauxartz and then also as a freelance dancer in the commercial world and I would recommend him highly to anybody who was considering Alan becoming a part of their team.
