Alan Meggs

Alan’s dissertation for the MA in Creative Writing was one of the best I have ever read. It was original and utterly absorbing which is evidence of Alan’s advanced research skills and excellent writing. As a student, Alan was supportive and encouraging of his peers and took a leading role when his class published an anthology and also at their open mic events in the city centre. He can write to an extremely high standard in a range of style and genres and we really hope he comes back to the University of Brighton to complete a PhD.

Over time I have engaged Alan’s services on several major projects as a stage manager and or costume supervisor. He has worked with me on events for Philips, the FSA, Barclays and Samsung. In fact, whenever I am planning such an event Alan is the first person I think of when preparing the project. He is now an indispensable member of my team and would not only recommend him to other producers I would say your project will be graced by his presence.

I was first introduced to Alan Meggs whilst scouting for dancers as the artistic director and choreographer of the dance company Beauxartz. His peers recommended Alan to me and he fast became a fantastic company member and an integral contribution to the success of the company. Not only was his dance technique admirable but also he was always disciplined and good humoured. I had the pleasure of working with Alan for many years – first as a company member of Beauxartz and then also as a freelance dancer in the commercial world and I would recommend him highly to anybody who was considering Alan becoming a part of their team.
